March 19, 2016 - Central Electric held the first annual Charity Ride Bowling Tournament on Saturday, March 19th at the Village Bowl in Mitchell.
There were 12 teams, including teams from Central Electric, Southeastern Electric, South Dakota Rural Electric Association, Border States Electric, Charles Mix Electric, LaCreek Electric, and Sioux Valley Energy. In addition to the participating teams, donations were also made by Clay Union Electric and East River Electric.
Each team bowled three games to earn a final score. LaCreek Electric was the overall champion and took home the traveling trophy with a total score of 2497 after three games.
The National Rural Utilities Cooperative Finance Corporation and the Village Bowl helped sponsor the event.
The funds raised will be presented at the Annual Charity Ride event in September. All funds raised are given to the Line Patrol fund which is used for any cooperative employees and their families that have undergone a hardship.
